As you can tell, we REALLY love BOLIVIA! The women in Bolivia that wear the native clothing are called Cholas and if they are young they are called Cholitas. It is an interesting contrast to who are considered Cholos and Cholas in New Mexico isn´t it? The Cholas and Cholitas carry many things in their colorful cloth sacks from firewood, to bags of Quinoa, to babies. One woman reswaddled her 3 month old baby right next to me in the plaza. These women sure work hard and are very beautiful. There is a picture from far away of a Cholita in the first post about Bolivia. This young girl is carrying firewood on her back.

Fantastic photos! Were you as covered by sand and dust as that car? A shower must have been welcome after that! I loved the flamingos. Hope Cassie's headache didn't interfere too much with enjoying the sights. How did you handle the altitude? We are excited to hear we have reservations for the Secret Garden. Hugs and kisses, Mom and Dad B
